Quiet Reach
Play the small movements of a riverbank
Choose one place for the eye to follow. A low note can spread a set of rings while the far bank holds, or a brighter sound can bend just the reed tips.

Draw a distinction between water and air
Put the strongest ripple where a viewer could imagine its source. A ring claims a small area of water, while mist draws the eye sideways across the whole bank. Set their positions before turning on motion.
Give the foreground an anchor
The upper canopy reveals light between its leaves. Reeds keep a fixed base as their tips lean. Play either control over a sustained passage and watch whether the frame still reads when the sound falls away.
Effects in Quiet Reach
4 effects to explore and combine.

Lee Rings
Four elliptical crests pick up light around one resting point. Each has a lit lip and a darker underside.

Canopy Shade
Interlocking patches of cool shadow hang from two upper boughs. Opening them exposes the original picture between the shadows.

Driftbank
An uneven lower ribbon stays near the bank while a softer upper ribbon lifts away. Background detail shows between the two.

Reed Bed
Tapered blades of different lengths rise from fixed roots along the bottom edge. The tallest tips travel furthest.
Creative applications
- Animate a painted landscape for a quiet break.
- Perform a riverside projection over a musician’s stereo mix.
Starting workflow
- Start with a picture that has some open water. Position Lee Rings below the horizon, then choose Sound on Ring spread in the desktop editor.
- Play a bass note and compare the resting pose with a sustained note. Pin Ring spread to Perform and ride Response amount.
- Add Driftbank on the far shore when the composition needs a second depth. Give Mist lift a longer release so the two gestures read separately.
Make it part of your next composition.
