Frequently asked questions

A few things to know.

Buying and license

Are the collections separate purchases?

Artfkt includes the full current collection library in one desktop studio. You do not need to buy individual collection packs.

Does Artfkt ask for a license key?

The first time you open the Gumroad download, Artfkt asks for the license key on your receipt. A successful check is stored on your Mac and reused offline. A later check while you are online can lock the app if Gumroad reports a refund, chargeback, or open dispute.

Installing and updates

Which Macs does Artfkt support?

Artfkt is built for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. The desktop app does not currently support Intel Macs, Windows, or Linux.

System requirements

Does Artfkt work offline?

After the license key is checked once, Artfkt opens without a network connection. Downloaded fonts work offline, and saved projects embed their font files. Searching for Google Fonts you have not downloaded, and previewing those fonts, needs an internet connection.

How do I install a new version?

Quit Artfkt, then replace the application in Applications with the new download. Artfkt does not install updates by itself.

Using Artfkt

What can I make with Artfkt?

Artfkt is a creative image effects studio for Mac. Make posters, cover artwork, digital collages, and experimental images by stacking effects, combining images and editable text layers, and animating parameters.

Can I save a project or reuse a look?

Save and reopen local projects to continue a composition. You can also save, import, and export reusable effect stacks through My Artfkts, then apply them to another image layer.

Can I add and edit text?

Yes. Artfkt for Mac supports editable text layers. Edit directly on the canvas, choose type size, weight, spacing, and alignment, and wrap text inside a resizable box. Move, scale, rotate, and blend text with images, and apply compatible effects. Text editing is a desktop feature; the free browser demo works with one image layer.

How do fonts work? Can I use them offline?

Inter is bundled with Artfkt for Mac. Search and preview Google Fonts, save favorites, and download styles from the text inspector or Settings → Fonts. Additional downloads and previews of fonts you have not downloaded require an internet connection. Downloaded fonts work offline, and saved projects embed their font files. Removing a library download does not remove fonts from your projects.

Can I export my work?

Yes. Both Artfkt for Mac and the free browser demo can export your work. Choose output dimensions to suit your artwork, within your device’s rendering and codec limits.

Which languages does Artfkt support?

Artfkt for Mac follows your Mac’s language: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. The websites stay in English.

Free browser demo

Can I try it before buying?

Try the free Glitch demo in your browser. It includes the Glitch collection, effect stacking, parameter animation, and export on one image layer. Artfkt for Mac brings all collections, multiple image layers, editable text, and font management into one workspace.

Do images in the browser demo get uploaded?

Images you choose in the free browser demo stay on your device. Editing and export run locally in the browser, and those image files are not uploaded.
